1.
One thing he knows. Is the purpose. His requirement. Green fades into grey. A position of authority. Holding on, holding halfway on. Feeling gone. Feeling all that’s left in his left arm. Grey fades into black. The beginning of a heart attack. Takes his breath away. One thing he hates. Is consumption, those degenerates. Black fades into red. Lying on his back, in a clinic bed. All alone, always all alone. Even so, even if he leaves a new one goes. Red fades into white. A prescription for his social life. He turns his head away. All because he knows.

Oasis in the sun. On the backs everyone. He’s their number one. Our number’s come undone. Take me to the desert. You can leave me there. I won’t change my mind. Who can recognize, who’s the other side? No one’s looking at your eyes. Through the lens they hypnotize. Reaching through the heat. Transformations make you sleep. They won’t be wrong again.
3.
I heard you left town. Are you happy now? Off to better parts. A familiar crown. You want me around. When you’re down and out. I won’t be around. I can do without. I’m waiting to take you away. What else am I trying to say? I’m waiting to take you today. I heard you left town. Are you happy now? Off to better parts. A familiar crown. I’m waiting to take away. What else am I trying to say? I’m waiting to take you today.

I walked out there on that day. Sun was shining through the rain. I looked up and saw your face. He spoke of water like he knew. That the images come true. Wearing flip flops and white suits. You were perfect in that role. The stage was set for all to see. It’s no surprise that you would be. It all makes sense, the things we say. And the promises we make. Will keep us happy in our place. We made out in front of them all. We were planning for the fall. There’s something sad about a sunny day. But it won’t follow us today. There’s something right about a grave mistake. But it won’t follow us today. I’d like to know. If the smoke down by the river. Will leave its traces in this picture. We wrote the words. Under cedar boards we said it. The story reads just like we planned it.

Where did it go? I never touched it. How should I know? Someone explain where the money went. Too much to know. This wouldn’t work out. We should just go and leave all the things we can do without. And the tension doesn’t show. It won’t hurt for long, I know. Five years or more, we’ll make do with what we have on this night. This is the tone. We didn’t set it. Too much, too low. There’s nothing that I’d rather think about. Can we just go? Leave what we left here. No one will know. As long as we don’t give ‘em what they want. Complications start to grow. The situation takes its toll. It won’t hurt for long, I know. Five years or more to go. Nothing really matters anyway. Problems seem to multiply this way. Who are they to say? The body is ours, the mind’s still at play.

In the light my eyes close tight. As we’re standing on the other side of night. The sun replies with a shaking head. Dance across the TV screen again. Lines won’t bend. We’re not what we used to be. Full of possibility. If I could change a thousand things, number one would be we’d share the sun. In our arms. In our own game, we’ll work it out our own way. It’s okay, the work is done.

Little Kicks 03:53
Will we make it through this year? Or will it end up in another world. I keep thinking to myself. Now you're walking down your street. Another thing for you to think about. I keep talking to myself. I’ve been waiting for so long. To get control of me. Trying in my head, but you’re still not making sense. The secret spills over again. Take the truth out from your head for now. You keep lying to yourself. I can't write much more than this. Let’s just take another walk tonight. We keep laughing to ourselves. I’ve been waiting for so long. To get you back to me. Trying in my head. I misread you, I mislead you. I’m sorry for the broken answers. You deserved much more from me this time. Let’s make it right. And the sky goes blue tonight.

Wasting time on the edge of town. Nothing seems to have much meaning anymore. He turns his head, toward the smoky door. And a feeling starts coming over him. People change, people walk away. Yet the places stay the same velocity. Holding out, something’s in the way. Words can’t change the thing he wanted most to say. Hey. Do you need sometime? Do you wander through you life? Are you leaving out your pride? The settings change. The feeling goes away. And no one takes away from him the things he owns. But who’s to say that he won’t have his share? There’s no loss in leaving everything at home. The places change, the feeling stays, no use to walk away. If he won’t go, the things he knows begin to fade away.

Kissinger 04:22
I was alone. I was the only one. Two more were there. We were a family then. You know it’s right. Our eyes were closed. You know it’s why it can’t get much better. You know it’s right. They left us all alone. The story goes. Looking for something new. Put me on hold. Call back for Kissinger. You know it’s right. Our eyes were closed. You know it’s why it can’t get much better. You know it’s right. When they left us all alone. Anyway you want it from me. I was wrong. You’re taking out the best in me. Take me home. Kissinger I’ll take you anywhere. Kissinger I’ll take you everywhere.

All I see is men in yellow suits now. I walked around the bottom, the bottom of it all. And I've seen things I can’t forget, but you can’t forget them all. When you're captain of it, no one laughs about it. Some say they let me off. I enjoy the finer tastes in Hazelwood. Black spills all over the shore. I've been led through the wrong door. Now we see the harsh, dark truth. It's not for you. The real thing about it. There’s no one here who gets it. We move so quick to clean up. The separation makes it fit. Now no one talks about us. I gave my life to their cause. That ship we sank gets no respect. I can’t forget this mess now, I can’t forget.

Don't Call 03:47
Don’t call. Don’t talk about the right things, that’s for sure. Don’t call. Don’t think about the right things, that’s for sure. I don’t like trying to mend. Whatever went wrong in your head. We’ve been spending our time. Writing out these lines. Don’t crawl. Don’t crawl around the red lines, that’s for her. Don’t call. Don’t wrap around the right ones, that’s the cure.
